Jaya Nepal! is a wonderful novel written by Martin David Hughes, a talented Asheville based author. Set in frenetic and colorful Kathmandu in early years of the new millennium, Jaya Nepal! takes its readers into the life and journey of a young Peace Corps volunteer. As part of the online marketing plan and to generate a web-presence for the novel, ODDS created the comprehensive Jaya Nepal! Website.
The incorporation of illustrations (from the book), photographs and looped video clips on the website compliments the overall aesthetics and storyline of Jaya Nepal! These elements form an integral part of the overall web design while providing the visitors, a genuine connection to the place and culture brought to life in Jaya Nepal! Through the website, viewers can read a sample chapter, learn about the author and purchase the novel— both as an eBook and a paperback. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds fund educational loans to young women in the developing countries.
The responsive website has been created keeping multiple screen sizes in mind and adjusts from mobile to desktop. A Big Cartel E-commerce theme is also customized to reflect the design of the site and allows for purchases both through the website directly, as well as Amazon.
ODDS created an amazing website for my Nepal-based novel. Both Marisa & Shantanu took the time up front to research the novel’s setting and design an author website that reflected the world depicted in the novel. They also took the time to determine which website platform and plugins would best work for my particular needs. I feel so grateful to have a website that builds upon and enhances all the work I put into my novel, and I am very proud to share my site with my readers. The unique combination of skills that they bring to the table is truly special. The whole design process was both fun and organized, and it was an amazing feeling to know that they were creating something beautiful on my behalf. I have complete confidence in their ability to deliver an amazing product, whether it be a website, a logo, or product packaging.
