2015 has marked Open Door Design Studio’s 2nd year of business. We have grown, both in numbers and our work. It’s been a crazy ride, filled with many new and wonderful relationships and exciting projects along the way.
When we started ODDS back in 2013, we were the new kids on the block for the Asheville community. Upon arrival, we quickly rolled up our sleeves and began digging into as much work that came through our door. Ever since, we’ve been putting our heart and soul into every single project that we work on. Today we’re proud of our track record, the amazing projects we’ve completed and the fantastic clients we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with, many of whom are close friends now. During this short journey we’ve also received national and international design accolades for some of our projects.
However, we know that we are only as good as the clients we have and the projects we’ve worked on. And so we would like to take this opportunity to showcase some of these amazing clients of ours. While we would love to fit all of our projects in this newsletter, here’s just a sample of the work we’ve completed.
Left to right: Reinventing the Toilet Challenge container design (featured in Communication Arts Design Annual, Design Boom and awarded 2 Gold ADDYs); Sweet Farm Sauerkraut label design (featured in PRINT Regional Design Annual, Dieline & Packaging of the World); Creative Arts at Haywood Community College identity + website (featured on Unmatched Style); Science Art Cinema series identity design for the Frost Science Museum in Miami; John Geci Glass (featured in LogoLounge 9); The Kent Building identity + website (featured on Unmatched Style).
In 2015, we also collaborated on several community projects offering our design skills to help bring to life the following local events:
On the other side of our doors, we’ve been working hard to improve our standards, our business and our involvement within the local and international design community. We’ve also been polishing our skills at animation design to help our clients represent their brand better in their industry. As always, we continue to research and learn how we can better serve our clients.
OUR GROWING TEAM
We are delighted to bring Fabiana DiMaso on board as the newest member of the ODDS team. Like each of us at ODDS, she wears many hats, offering her sweet design skills and also helps to keep our projects on track. Hailing from south Florida, our paths first crossed during our time attending the University of Florida. Fast-forward a few years and a couple thousand feet of elevation, we find ourselves reunited.
NEW YEAR, NEW SPACE
Riding on the heels of all this excitement, we are happy to report that we will be moving into a new studio space beginning January 1st, 2016. From our humble beginnings at Mojo Coworking, we are now ready to move into our very own office space in the historic River Arts District. We will miss all of the friends we’ve made at Mojo. It was the perfect space for us to begin this great adventure and we thank Mojo for all of their support. To finish off our time here, we co-hosted the annual holiday party with Mojo this year. A great time was had by all—thanks to all who came out to celebrate!
As we move forward into this new year, we will make our best efforts to stay in touch more regularly. Although we ask you, what would you like to hear about in our future letters? We would love your feedback, both in relation to our work or if you have any suggestions to help us improve— there is always a room for improvement. In the meantime, be sure to follow along on social media and check in at our website regularly as we frequently update our portfolio with new work.
Finally, from the ODDS team, we wish everyone the happiest of holidays and all the best towards a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!
With love and gratitude,
Open Door Design Studio (a.k.a. ODDS)
